Insecurity in Santiago: Police officers stripped of their weapons and motorcycle in La Noriega
The La Noriega community, located in the southern area of Santiago, was the scene of a worrying incident where two National Police officers were victims of an assault. The uniformed officers, who were fulfilling their duty to provide assistance to a family that had allegedly suffered a robbery, were intercepted and overwhelmed by criminals while on patrol duty.
The incident was captured by security cameras in the area, whose footage shows the exact moment the officers arrived at the scene on their motorcycle, only to be surprised by the criminals. During the attack, the delinquents managed to strip the police officers of their service weapons and the official vehicle they were traveling in.
A climate of tension in Santiago
This event has set off alarms in the Heart City, especially since it occurred just days after another officer, a lieutenant colonel, was the victim of a similar robbery while he was in the vicinity of the Yaque del Norte river, near the Yapur Dumit bridge.
