The World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) is preparing for its stop in Brazil, from July 11 to 13, with the 6 Hours of São Paulo – Rolex, an event that will be held at the iconic Autódromo de Interlagos. This edition promises a competition full of talent, experience, and adrenaline, with the participation of prominent figures in motorsports, including world champions and young promises.
Key Figures at Interlagos
One of the most anticipated names is Valentino Rossi, the iconic “Il Dottore”, nine-time world motorcycle champion, who will compete in the LMGT3 category with the BMW team. Despite a season with ups and downs, Rossi will seek to stand out in Interlagos, a circuit he visits for the first time in this discipline. Also, Kevin Magnussen, former Formula 1 driver, will be present, making his debut in the FIA WEC with the BMW team in the Hypercar category. Magnussen returns to Interlagos with good memories, where he achieved his only pole position in F1 in 2022. Robert Kubica, current champion of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the Hypercar category, will also be present, seeking to replicate his success with Ferrari AF Corse #83. Jenson Button, 2009 Formula 1 world champion, could race one of his last races as a professional in Brazil, sharing the Cadillac #38 with Sebastien Bourdais and Earl Bamber. Brazilian Augusto Farfus Jr., with extensive experience in endurance racing, will seek a good result with his BMW team in LMGT3, boosted by his recent victory at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring.
