Gianni Infantino arrives in the Dominican Republic to boost the development of football
FIFA President Gianni Infantino arrived in Dominican territory this Friday on a strategic visit aimed at strengthening ties with local soccer. The head of world football was received at Punta Cana Airport by the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, along with key figures of national sports, including the president of the Dominican Football Federation, the head of the Dominican Olympic Committee, Luisin Mejía, and the national football commissioner.
During his stay at the airport terminal, Infantino held a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, who extended a warm welcome to the country. The exchange underscored the Dominican Government’s willingness to maintain a close and collaborative relationship with the world football governing body.
I already feel it as my country. You had told me that when we met and it is so. You have a Dominican as FIFA president, Infantino expressed during his dialogue with the president.
For his part, President Abinader reaffirmed the commitment of the Dominican State to advance joint projects. In response, the FIFA leader reiterated his full willingness to collaborate in the growth of the discipline in the nation:
