Larry Nance Jr. Returns to Cleveland on a One-Year Contract
The Cleveland Cavaliers have reached a one-year agreement with Larry Nance Jr., according to sources close to the team.
Nance, a 32-year-old power forward, played 32 games last season with the Atlanta Hawks, averaging 8.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists. He suffered a non-displaced fracture in his right knee in early February and was unable to play for the rest of the season.
With this addition, the Cavaliers add depth to their interior game, behind Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley. In addition to Nance, the team has added Lonzo Ball and has kept Sam Merrill this summer.
Nance is about to begin his eleventh season in the NBA. He was selected 27th overall in the 2015 draft by the Los Angeles Lakers, where he played for three seasons. He has also played with the Cleveland Cavaliers, New Orleans Pelicans, and Portland Trail Blazers.
The agreement was initially reported by Marc Stein. Nance comes from a two-year, $21.5 million contract.
