HPP Construction Company begins construction of the Divine Mercy Retirement Home in Santiago
Constructora HPP has formally begun construction work on the Divina Misericordia Retreat House, located in the municipality of Baitoa, Santiago. This ambitious social infrastructure project has a projected investment of over RD$58 million and its main objective is to strengthen the community fabric of the area.
The Minister of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (MIVED), Víctor -Ito- Bisonó, led the groundbreaking ceremony and highlighted that the project will be developed on an area of 1,496.36 square meters. The space has been designed to serve as a center for training, reflection, and coexistence for citizens.
Infrastructure details
The new religious and community headquarters will feature a modern and functional layout that includes:
- 19 bedrooms for visitors.
- Chapel, sacristy, and confessional.
- Areas dedicated to training and a library.
- Service areas such as a kitchen and bathrooms.
- Pedestrian paths and recreational areas.
The execution of this work represents a commitment to the social development of Santiago, creating a dignified and suitable space for the gathering and spirituality of our community.
Key figures were present at the event, such as the governor of Santiago, Rosa Santos; Senator Daniel Rivera; the mayor of Baitoa, Bernardo López; as well as community leaders and ecclesiastical representatives.

The company has confirmed that, over the next 90 days, it will deliver a series of key infrastructure projects nationwide, including:
- Comprehensive Disability Care Centers (CAID) in Santiago Rodríguez and Baní.
- Recreational infrastructure on the Playa Linda waterfront, Nizao.
- Renovation of the Catholic Charismatic Center in Santiago.
