Selena Gomez and her mother face federal lawsuit for alleged fraud at Wondermind
Renowned artist Selena Gomez and her mother, Mandy Teefey, are in the midst of a legal process in Delaware. Both have been sued for alleged fraud linked to Wondermind, the mental wellness platform they launched in 2022 in collaboration with entrepreneur Daniella Pierson.
The legal action was filed by the entities Wondermind SRS 44 LLC and Bespoke Wondermind LLC. The plaintiffs claim to have injected more than 1.2 million dollars into the initiative, based on projections and data that, they allege, distorted the financial reality and growth potential of the company.
Accusations regarding management and unfulfilled commitments
According to the documentation submitted to the authorities, the investors maintain that the founders omitted critical information regarding the operational and financial challenges the project was facing. Among the key points of the lawsuit are:
- The lack of concretion of various strategic initiatives originally announced.
- The failure to develop the mobile application that was supposed to be the central axis of the platform.
- The perception that Selena Gomez’s promotional commitments—including social media posts and public appearances—were not executed as agreed.
The plaintiffs argue that Wondermind was presented as a solid and profitable structure, but that the operational reality was far from the initial promises.
Background of an internal crisis
The legal situation is the culmination of a series of problems that had already come to light previously. Previous reports detailed a drastic reduction in the company’s workforce and the emergence of outstanding debts to suppliers and independent contractors. Investors claim that they were only able to gauge the severity of the crisis after the publication of specialized reports that revealed the company’s financial state in September 2025.
Personal tensions and the future of the project
The court file also sheds light on alleged personal friction between Gomez and Teefey. According to the plaintiffs, these conflicts led to the singer’s distancing from the platform, complicating decision-making and business operations. The lawsuit notes that, in the face of requests for accountability from investors, communication became complex, shifting inquiries directly to legal teams.
