Hamilton Praises Ferrari’s Progress After Strong Qualifying in Austria
The driver Lewis Hamilton has expressed his satisfaction with the progress made by Ferrari, after obtaining his best qualifying position of the season at the Austrian Grand Prix. His teammate, Charles Leclerc, is optimistic and aims to challenge McLaren in the race. Hamilton, who achieved a fourth place on the starting grid, acknowledged the team’s hard work. Leclerc, for his part, was placed on the front row of the grid, in second place. Ferrari’s improvement is attributed to a new and updated floor on the car. Both Hamilton and Leclerc praised the team’s efforts, both on and off the track.Hamilton added that the team’s operation was impeccable, highlighting the precision in the timings and the information received about the traffic and the positions on the track.“It’s a fantastic result. The team worked very hard at the factory to bring us a new floor this weekend,” said Hamilton.

Regarding the possibility of fighting for victory, Leclerc stated that he will give it his all. He acknowledged the gap with the leader, but is confident in the car’s performance with tire management. Hamilton also mentioned that he feels he is getting closer in terms of performance to Leclerc, which contributed to his “really positive day”. Regarding breaking his podium drought with Ferrari, Hamilton stated that he hopes it doesn’t take 900 days to achieve it. The increase in Ferrari’s performance comes at a time of growing pressure, especially on team principal Fred Vasseur. Hamilton highlighted the team’s unity and teamwork to overcome challenges.“The improvements definitely helped us today, it’s hard to know how much. But especially when you see how tight the margins are, it definitely helped us. So, for that, we should be proud of the work done,” said Leclerc.
