Maya Joint Crowned Champion in Eastbourne After Intense Battle
Australian tennis player Maya Joint starred in an epic comeback to win the title in Eastbourne, after defeating Alexandra Eala in a final full of emotions. Joint, demonstrating great mental strength, saved four match points before securing the victory with a score of 6-4, 1-6 and 7-6(10). Eala, representing the Philippines and seeking her first WTA title, was one point away from victory in the final set tiebreak. However, Joint held firm and managed to prevail.The 19-year-old young tennis player displayed a remarkable ability to recover, and on her second match point, with a score of 11-10, sealed her victory with a powerful cross-court backhand. While Joint was celebrating her second WTA title in her last four appearances, after her victory in Rabat, Eala, 20, withdrew from the court visibly emotional before the awards ceremony.
