La Romana Gets Ready for Volleyball: The RIVO 2025 Kicks Off with Great Success
La Romana becomes the epicenter of formative volleyball in the Caribbean with the start of the seventh edition of the Romana International Volleyball Open 2025 (RIVO). The tournament, which promises strong emotions, has brought together a large number of participants and an atmosphere full of youthful enthusiasm. Organized by the Volleyball Association of La Romana (Asovolaro), the event features the participation of 37 teams from Puerto Rico, Colombia, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. These teams, representing 12 clubs, will compete in various age categories: 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, and 18-20 years old.The competition will run until next Thursday and will take place on the courts of the Max Simón volleyball pavilion, the Virgilio Castillo (Chola) and the Eleoncio Mercedes sports complex. The RIVO 2025 is a fundamental platform for the development of volleyball in the region. This tournament fosters sports and cultural exchange among young athletes from different countries. The Romana International Volleyball Open (RIVO) is a highly prestigious open tournament that promotes high-level competition among volleyball clubs, both from the Dominican Republic and internationally. This event brings together teams in various categories, creating a dynamic and vibrant sporting environment. The tournament will be held from June 23 to 27, 2025.We are very happy with the launch of the Romana International Volleyball Open, which is a club tournament. This year we have the first-time visit of the Prodigioso club from Sabana Grande (Puerto Rico); Becerras from Baja California (Mexico); the Thunder Volleyball Club (Colombia).
