Jazz Chisholm Jr. Stars in an Unforgettable Game Against the Yankees
In an unusual morning encounter, the New York Yankees defeated the Baltimore Orioles with a score of 4-2, but the result took a backseat to the peculiar performance of Jazz Chisholm Jr. During the game, the player’s shoes went flying as he scored from second base. Chisholm, known for his energy on the field, starred in an unusual moment. After connecting a double that drove in two runs in the eighth inning, he slid into home plate, losing both shoes in the process. “I was so sweaty. My socks were wet. Everything just slid right off,” commented the player.
After the incident, Chisholm changed his socks and asked Jasson Domínguez to tie his shoelaces. “They say he’s the best shoelace tier,” Chisholm recalled. “I didn’t understand until he did it. It took me like a minute to take my shoes off.” In the eighth inning, with Baltimore leading 2-1, Ben Rice singled and Giancarlo Stanton followed with another single, putting runners on the corners. Paul Goldschmidt came in as a pinch runner and Chisholm hit a 384-foot hit that tied the game. Goldschmidt scored, and Chisholm took third base.I asked rookie Jasson Domínguez to tie my shoelaces after putting on new socks and my sneakers.
