San Pedro de Macorís – The Estrellas Orientales have officially appointed the iconic former player Albert Pujols as their new president of baseball operations. Pujols has already begun to carry out his duties within the organization, marking a new chapter in his outstanding career in the world of baseball. The team announced the news through an official statement, confirming Pujols’ role at the head of the sports area. In this position, he will assume the responsibility of leading the club’s baseball structure, contributing his vast experience and knowledge. Pujols reaches this position after a successful initial foray into management. Previously, he led the Leones del Escogido to the championship of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League in the 2024-2025 season. In addition, he managed the Dominican Republic national team in the recent World Baseball Classic.

Winner of the Rookie of the Year award in 2001 and three-time National League Most Valuable Player, as well as 11 All-Star selections, the Dominican retired in 2022 and is poised to be a future Cooperstown Hall of Fame selection in his first opportunity.
