NEW YORK. The New York Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox with a score of 4-0 at Fenway Park, thanks to an outstanding performance by Luis Gil from the mound and the offensive power of Giancarlo Stanton. Stanton, who until that moment had not connected unstoppable against left-handed pitchers in the season, changed the course of the game. In the second inning, he hit a home run that came out at 111.5 miles per hour, and later added a double that drove in two more runs, extending the Yankees’ lead. The designated hitter demonstrated his skill on the field in Boston, taking advantage of the stadium’s dimensions to make a difference with his power.

Domain on the Mound

Luis Gil was key again from the mound. The Dominican pitcher worked 6.1 innings without allowing runs, limiting the Red Sox to just two hits, with three walks and two strikeouts. Despite not having his best velocity, Gil controlled the game and kept the opposing offense at bay. Gil continued his good performance against Boston, a team against which he had an effectiveness of 0.99 in five starts. The Yankees’ triumph was sealed with a two-run double by Randal Grichuk in the eighth inning, solidifying their good performance at the start of this season.

On the other hand, the Red Sox showed offensive difficulties, a constant that became evident in this encounter, where they failed to decipher the New York pitching.
