Miami – Dominican Republic’s team manager, Albert Pujols, has expressed his discontent with the South Korean team due to the delay in revealing their offensive lineup for the quarter-final match of the World Baseball Classic, to be held this Friday in Miami. In his statements to the media, Pujols expressed his incomprehension at the practice, common among Korean and Japanese teams, of keeping their batting order secret until the last moment. In response to this situation, the Dominican strategist announced that he will also not disclose his team’s lineup.

I don’t know what the mystery is. We are waiting for Korea to send us their lineup, but if they don’t give it, I won’t publish mine either.

Pujols did reveal that the starting catcher for the game will be Agustín Ramírez, while Austin Wells, who has played in that position in previous games, will have a rest. The Dominican team will face the experienced left-handed pitcher Hyun Jin Ryu, with an outstanding career in Major League Baseball. The game is scheduled for 6:30 in the evening. This match corresponds to the quarter-final phase, a direct elimination stage. The winner will advance to the semi-finals, while the loser will be out of the tournament. Dominican Republic reaches this stage after leading Group D with a perfect record of 4-0, thanks to an offense that has been one of the most effective in the tournament. The winner of the match between Dominicans and South Koreans will face the winner of the duel between the United States and Canada in the semifinals, also scheduled for the quarter-final round.
