Cibao FC defeats Salcedo FC with a goal by Mosquera and highlights Frías’ performance

In an exciting match corresponding to Matchday 8 of the Dominican Republic Football League (LDF) Playoffs, Cibao FC defeated Salcedo FC 1-0 as visitors. The match, held at the Domingo Polonia stadium, was a tribute to Dr. José Rafael Abinader. The only goal of the match was scored by Colombian Kleimar Mosquera, who took advantage of a rebound to send the ball to the back of the net. Edwin Frías, Cibao FC’s goalkeeper, had an outstanding performance, successfully defending the orange goal and frustrating the home team’s attempts to score. The match remained scoreless for 81 minutes, until Mosquera scored the advantage for Cibao FC. The match was affected by the weather conditions, with heavy rain forcing a delay in the start of the second half. The field had puddles of water that made ground play difficult. In the 81st minute, Jean Carlos López took a free kick that goalkeeper Cristian Severino managed to touch, but the rebound fell to Mosquera, who did not forgive and scored the decisive goal. Edwin Frías, under the technical direction of Junior Scheldeur, was the goalkeeper for Cibao FC. Jean Carlos López wore the captain’s armband in the absence of Miguel Lloyd.
