He signs for Tottenham: Permanent transfer after successful loan
Mathys Tel secures his future with the Spurs. Tottenham Hotspur has officially announced the permanent acquisition of Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich. The young forward, 20 years old, had been on loan at the club during the second half of the 2024-25 season. Tel was a fundamental part of the team that broke the club’s title drought, achieving victory in the Europa League and ending 17 years without trophies. During his loan, the French attacker scored two goals and provided an assist in 13 matches. Tel’s situation remained uncertain after the departure of the coach who brought him to the team, Ange Postecoglou, who was relieved of his duties 16 days after the Europa League final against Manchester United. However, Tel has become the first signing of the new coach, Thomas Frank, who replaced Postecoglou. The Spurs have confirmed that Tel has signed a contract that ties him to the club until the year 2031.
