Fabio Wardley and Daniel Dubois in Negotiations for British Title Clash

Sources close to the situation have revealed to Alofoke Deportes that conversations are underway for a heavyweight title fight between Fabio Wardley and Daniel Dubois. Although a formal agreement has not yet been reached, there is a clear interest from both parties in making this fight happen, and negotiations are progressing. A key factor that could facilitate the agreement is that both boxers are promoted by Frank Warren and Queensberry, which would minimize obstacles to organizing the fight. Wardley, the current holder of the WBO title, was elevated to full champion in November after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the title.

This designation came after his knockout victory in the eleventh round over Joseph Parker in London, last October. Dubois, for his part, hasn’t fought since his knockout defeat in the fifth round against Oleksandr Usyk last July. However, he has expressed his desire to face Wardley and challenged him through social media on Saturday, urging him to “sign the contract”.

Regarding Daniel Dubois, that’s clearly a fight Fabio would gladly accept. There’s nothing like a British heavyweight world title clash!

Wardley became the mandatory challenger to fight Usyk after his victory over Parker, but Usyk decided to vacate the WBO title and was in talks to fight Deontay Wilder. Sources indicated that those conversations progressed, but ultimately did not materialize. Wilder will now face Derek Chisora in April.
