Tottenham Hotspur Secures Mathys Tel in Permanent Transfer

Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Bayern Munich to sign French Under-21 international Mathys Tel on a permanent transfer. The news was confirmed by sources close to the club. After his loan to Tottenham in January, with a purchase option of 60 million euros, the 20-year-old striker will become a permanent player for the Europa League winning team. The transfer was closed for a reduced fee of 40 million euros, including bonuses, following successful negotiations between both clubs. Tel, born in Paris, had already agreed personal terms with Tottenham and will sign a contract that will bind him to the club until June 2031. During his loan to Tottenham, Tel scored three goals and provided an assist in 20 matches across all competitions. The new coach, Thomas Frank, made the decision to make him the first signing of his management. Bayern Munich signed Tel from Rennes, where he trained in the academy before debuting in Ligue 1 at just 16 years old, for 30 million euros in the summer of 2022.
