WrestleMania Expands: Saudi Arabia to Host the Event in 2027

For the first time in its history, WrestleMania, the pinnacle event of wrestling, will be held outside of North America. The 2027 edition of the “Showcase of the Immortals” will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part of the “Riyadh Season” initiative, WWE announced on Friday.

Since its inception in 1985, WrestleMania had always been held in North American cities. The idea of taking the company’s most important event abroad had been hinted at by Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE’s Chief Creative Officer, and is now materializing.

This is an opportunity to show the world that WWE is a global brand that reaches every corner of the planet and excites fans around the world.

The official announcement came a few days after Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, mentioned in a now-deleted Snapchat live video that WrestleMania would be moving to Saudi Arabia.

WrestleMania is already the most important date on the wrestling calendar, and this announcement marks a significant moment in our partnership with WWE. We deeply respect the legacy of WrestleMania and the global prestige it holds among wrestling fans worldwide.

WWE has been holding events in Saudi Arabia since 2018, following a $1 billion deal with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which includes the realization of multiple events in the country over the next 10 years. Next year’s Royal Rumble will be the first of WWE’s “Big Four” events to be held in Saudi Arabia. WrestleMania 42 will be held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 18 and 19, 2026. It will be the second consecutive time that Las Vegas hosts WrestleMania.
