SmackDown: Tiffany Stratton and Stephanie Vaquer Headed to Crown Jewel

The Crown Jewel event, which will be held on October 11 in Perth, Australia, already has a main event defined. Tiffany Stratton, current WWE Women’s Champion, retained her title on Friday, maintaining her undefeated streak. The SmackDown episode culminated with Stratton and Stephanie Vaquer, both women’s world champions, staring at each other, anticipating their match for the WWE Women’s Crown Jewel Championship. But Friday night was marked by a rescue, a surprise, and an outstanding performance by one of the most talented wrestlers on the roster.

SmackDown Results for September 26th

  • Street Profits defeated Melo Don’t Miz.
  • Giulia, United States Women’s Champion, and Kiana James defeated B-Fab and Michin.
  • Sami Zayn, United States Men’s Champion, defeated Je’Von Evans.
  • Tiffany Stratton, Women’s Champion, defeated Nia Jax and Jade Cargill.
The night belonged to Je’Von Evans.
SmackDown was packed with key moments. Randy Orton saved Cody Rhodes from a double attack by The Vision, and Jacob Fatu confronted Drew McIntyre. However, the central theme was the impressive performance of NXT’s Je’Von Evans, who faced Sami Zayn in the U.S. Title Open Challenge. Evans proved to be a rising star, a future world champion who stood up to Zayn. At only 21 years old, his potential is enormous. A round of applause for Je’Von! Zayn’s U.S. Title Open Challenge has been a resounding success, allowing for exciting matches and showcasing the talent of his opponents. Zayn is capable of delivering great matches with any WWE wrestler, and his victory is based on the devastating Blue Thunder Bomb. It is one of the highlights of WWE.

Other highlights and arguments

Orton came to Rhodes’ aid to stop The Vision. We will likely see a match between Rhodes and Orton, perhaps at Survivor Series on November 29, but it is more likely that they will continue to team up. The women’s triple threat match had its difficult moments. Jade Cargill suffered a cut above her eye after being thrown against the metal stairs by Nia Jax. The end of the match generated confusion. Stratton covered Jax, and referee Daphanie LaShaunn began to count, but stopped abruptly at two, as Jax’s shoulders were still on the mat. Stratton quickly applied an elbow and the Prettiest Moonsault Ever for the three count. Regardless of the confusion, this moment recalled what former WWE referee Jimmy Korderas always said: as a referee, if the shoulders are on the mat, the count goes to three.
The relationship between Melo Don’t Miz and Street Profits seems tense, and it’s possible that Melo Won’t Miz will materialize after Carmelo Hayes refused to break a pin on The Miz following an exchange between the two. Street Profits now have a tag team title match against Wyatt Sicks, who were watching intently from behind the commentary table, but they could also implode during the title match (or shortly after).
Jacob Fatu appeared on SmackDown to confront McIntyre, and after a great exchange, Fatu took down the Scottish Warrior. A match between the two would be fantastic. Damian Priest received a kick to the face on his birthday, as is tradition in professional wrestling.
