Farewell to the Icon: Hulk Hogan’s Funeral Brought Together Family and Friends

LARGO, Florida – A touching funeral ceremony bid farewell to the legendary wrestler Hulk Hogan, who passed away last month at the age of 71. The event, which took place Tuesday night, gathered dozens of people to honor the memory of Terry Bollea, the real name of the wrestling icon.

The private ceremony was held in the same church where Hogan was baptized in 2023. The wrestler passed away after suffering a heart attack on July 24th at his Clearwater residence, according to the Pinellas County medical examiner’s report.

The medical report also revealed that Hogan suffered from leukemia and atrial fibrillation, a condition that causes an irregular heartbeat. The cause of his death was determined to be natural.

Security at the venue was strict, with the presence of Largo police officers and K-9 units. Only guests on the list were allowed to enter the event, with signs indicating “Private Event”.

Former President Donald Trump shared a photo on his Truth Social platform in which he appears to be competing with Hogan in an arm wrestling match, adding: “Today is the ‘Hulkster’s’ funeral and I thought everyone would like to see this photo.”

Governor Ron DeSantis ordered flags to be flown at half-staff at all official buildings last Friday, a day that was declared “Hulk Hogan Day in Florida”.

Hulk Hogan, known for his charisma and his feats in the ring, was one of the most important figures in WWE history. He was the main star of the first WrestleMania in 1985 and for years faced legends like André the Giant and Randy Savage, as well as The Rock and WWE co-founder Vince McMahon.

Outside the world of wrestling, Hogan also stood out as a celebrity, participating in numerous films and television shows, including “Hogan Knows Best”, a reality show about his personal life on VH1.

Hogan’s body will be cremated.

His daughter, Brooke Bollea Oleksy, known as Brooke Hogan, paid tribute to her father in a recent social media post.

Instagram post: “I am so grateful to have met the real version of him. Not just the one the world saw through a carefully curated lens.”
