John Cena to Headline WWE Event in Indianapolis

The renowned wrestler John Cena will lead a Premium Live Event of WWE next month in Indianapolis, which will be broadcast through ESPN’s direct-to-consumer service. Cena will share the ring with stellar figures like Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, CM Punk, and Drew McIntyre at WWE’s inaugural Wrestlepalooza, scheduled for Saturday, September 20th. The event will kick off at 7 p.m. ET at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Cody Rhodes holds the Undisputed WWE Title, Rollins is the World Heavyweight Champion, and Lynch is the Intercontinental Women’s Champion. Furthermore, this will be Cena’s last appearance wrestling in Indianapolis.

This event marks the beginning of the new five-year agreement between WWE and ESPN, which will bring live Premium events to ESPN platforms. ESPN’s direct-to-consumer service will premiere on Thursday, and subscribers to the unlimited plan will have access to all live WWE Premium events as part of their package.

Indianapolis hosted the 2025 Royal Rumble, which set an attendance record for the event at the nearby Lucas Oil Stadium. Tickets for the event will go on sale starting Friday at 10 a.m. ET. Presale tickets will be available on Thursday. Additionally, two more events will be broadcast on ESPN platforms this year: Crown Jewel on October 11 and Survivor Series in San Diego on November 29.
