Las Vegas, Nevada – The first game of the WNBA Finals broke viewership records, becoming the most-watched Game 1 since the league’s inaugural season.

An average of 1.9 million viewers tuned in to witness the exciting match where Las Vegas prevailed over Phoenix with a score of 89-86 on Friday night. This figure represents a significant increase of 62% compared to the previous season’s matchup between New York and Minnesota.

The match reached a peak of 2.5 million viewers at one point.

The only time the audience exceeded this figure was at the 1997 championship, a single game that defined the winner.
