Las Vegas, Nevada – The first game of this year’s WNBA Finals has marked a significant milestone in terms of viewership, establishing itself as the most-watched Game 1 since the league’s inaugural season.

An average of 1.9 million viewers tuned in to witness the exciting match where Las Vegas defeated Phoenix with a score of 89-86 last Friday. This figure represents a substantial increase of 62% compared to the previous season’s matchup between New York and Minnesota.

The peak of the broadcast reached 2.5 million viewers, demonstrating the growing interest and popularity of the WNBA.

It should be noted that the only time in the history of the league with a higher audience was the 1997 championship, a single game in which the title was decided.
