Paige Bueckers, Dallas Wings star, misses game due to injury
ARLINGTON, Texas – Dallas Wings standout rookie Paige Bueckers has been ruled out of Saturday night’s home game against Washington due to a right knee issue.
Bueckers appeared on the team’s injury report on Saturday. There were no details about what the exact problem was a day after she scored 27 points and had six assists, playing nearly 36 and a half minutes in the Wings’ 94-86 loss to the Indiana Fever.
This will be the fifth game that the number 1 draft pick of this year misses. Bueckers was out for three games while in the WNBA concussion protocol and then missed the first game she was eligible to return due to illness.
In the 13 games he has played, Bueckers has averaged 18.4 points, 5.8 assists, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.8 steals.
Caitlin Clark, last year’s WNBA Rookie of the Year, did not play with the Fever on Friday night, missing her second consecutive game due to a left groin injury. That spoiled what was supposed to be the first meeting of the last two number 1 draft picks, although the American Airlines Center, with a capacity of 20,000 people, was still almost full for the game.
