Minnesota Lynx Clinch Playoff Berth in WNBA

Despite not playing on Tuesday, the Minnesota Lynx, current leaders of the WNBA, became the first team of the season to secure their playoff spot.

The Dallas Wings’ victory over the Indiana Fever with a score of 81-80 was decisive for Minnesota to secure their playoff spot.

The Lynx, with an impressive 27-5 record, have demonstrated their strength in the league. Currently, they are on a five-game winning streak and have won nine of their last ten games.

The team’s star, Napheesa Collier, who has been one of the most outstanding players and an MVP candidate, has not participated since August 2 due to an ankle injury. However, this has not stopped the team’s performance.

The next two Minnesota games will be against the New York Liberty, rivals in the 2024 WNBA Finals, on August 16th and 19th.

Founded in 1999, the Minnesota team, which has achieved four WNBA titles, prepares for its sixteenth playoff appearance, being the fourteenth in the last fifteen years.

The WNBA regular season will end on September 11. Eight teams will compete in the playoffs, where the first round will be a best-of-three series, the semifinals a best-of-five, and the Finals, for the first time, will be a best-of-seven.
