The match, held on Friday night, demonstrated the Lynx’s superiority on both ends of the court. Napheesa Collier led the Lynx’s attack with 25 points, followed by Courtney Williams, who contributed 23 points to the scoreboard. Williams stood out with impressive efficiency, making 10 of 12 field goals, including 3 of 4 three-pointers. The Lynx’s dominance became evident in the third quarter, where they scored 34 points, extending their lead to 85-61. The team demonstrated their precision from the three-point line, with 9 of 20 in the first three quarters, and added 22 free throws out of 31 attempts. The Lynx finished the game with 25 of 38 from the free throw line and a 54% overall effectiveness, including 10 of 25 three-pointers. The Lynx reached 100 points with four minutes remaining in the last quarter. Anastasiia Olairi Kosu scored in consecutive possessions near the final minute, establishing Minnesota’s largest lead of the night. The rebound was a key factor in the Lynx’s victory, outperforming the Aces 48-30. Coach Cheryl Reeve highlighted the importance of effort in rebounding. Las Vegas Aces, who played on the road for the second consecutive night, had a 38% field goal percentage. A’ja Wilson led the Aces (12-13) with 15 points, and Jackie Young added 14. Jewell Loyd of the Aces did not score any points, the second time this has happened in her career. She had played 202 consecutive games scoring at least one point since July 19, 2019. A Chelsea Gray three gave Las Vegas a 14-12 lead before Minnesota closed the first quarter on a 15-4 run. Carleton hit two three-pointers in that period, and Collier added five points. Williams, McBride, and Collier hit three-pointers at the end of the second quarter, allowing the Lynx to take a 51-35 lead at halftime.
