Caitlin Clark’s return to the court at Iowa’s Carver-Hawkeye Arena, for the WNBA preseason game between the Indiana Fever and the Brazilian national team, drew an average of 1.3 million viewers on ESPN, the network announced on Tuesday.

The average audience for Sunday’s game exceeded the 2024 WNBA regular season average on ESPN by 13%.

The Fever-Brazil matchup peaked at 1.6 million viewers, and the game featured a sold-out crowd of 15,000 people at Carver-Hawkeye, where the average resale ticket price was $440.

Clark, who is starting her second season with the Fever, scored 16 points in Indiana’s 108-44 victory.

This was the second time the all-time leading scorer in NCAA Division I returned to Carver-Hawkeye since leaving the Hawkeyes; her number 22 jersey was retired in a ceremony following Iowa’s 76-69 victory over USC on February 2.
