Crystal Bradford to Miss Aces Debut Due to Suspension

Las Vegas Aces reserve Crystal Bradford will not be available for the season opener against New York due to a one-game suspension.

This sanction stems from a fight that occurred four years ago.

Bradford, who in 2021 played for the Atlanta Dream, was involved in a physical altercation outside a club in the Atlanta area in May of that year. Her former teammate Courtney Williams also participated in said incident.

After the 2021 WNBA season ended, the league imposed a two-game suspension on Williams and a one-game suspension on Bradford for violations of health and safety protocol.

Because both players were free agents, the suspensions carried over to the next regular season games in which they competed. Williams served her suspension the following season. Bradford, for her part, was out of the league until she earned a roster spot with Las Vegas this year.

She has to serve a one-game suspension and then she will be ready to play in Connecticut.

Becky Hammon, Las Vegas coach

The 31-year-old forward was at the Phoenix Mercury training camp in 2023, but did not make the final roster. In recent seasons, she has excelled in Athletes Unlimited, averaging 16 points and 13 rebounds this winter in the player-led league.

She is our battery. She is someone who is going to bring energy no matter what. I never know if she’s having a bad day or a good day. And I love those types of people because they are very consistent in what they bring to our game and to our locker room. I appreciate her.
