Stefanos Tsitsipas Withdraws from Wimbledon Due to Injury
Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas was forced to retire from his first-round match at Wimbledon due to a back injury, according to the player himself. Tsitsipas, currently ranked 24th in the world and a former top 3 contender, retired while losing 6-3, 6-2 against the French qualifier Valentin Royer.The tennis player, two-time Grand Slam runner-up, expressed his frustration with the current situation. Tsitsipas has been dealing with lower back problems since he withdrew from the ATP Tour Finals in 2023. Despite winning the title in Dubai this year, his physical problems have coincided with a drop in the rankings.I am fighting many battles these days.
