Iga Swiatek Splits with Her Coach After Surprising Miami Defeat
Wimbledon champion Iga Swiatek has announced her separation from her coach after an unexpected elimination in the first round of the Miami Open. The news was confirmed on Monday, generating surprise in the tennis world. Swiatek, world number 3, shared the news through an Instagram post, announcing the end of her relationship with Wim Fissette, with whom she had worked since 2024 and with whom she achieved her first Wimbledon title last year.Swiatek, with six Grand Slam titles to her name, expressed her decision to “take a different path”.The 24-year-old Polish tennis player suffered a three-set defeat against Magda Linette, ranked 50th in the world, in Miami last week.
