Aryna Sabalenka Seeks Glory at Indian Wells

Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka, two-time runner-up at Indian Wells, will have another opportunity to conquer the title. Sabalenka defeated Linda Noskova in the semifinals with a score of 6-3, 6-4. In a match that lasted 1 hour and 28 minutes on the main court of the BNP Paribas Open, the world number one, Sabalenka, demonstrated her superiority. In Sunday’s final, she will face Elena Rybakina, currently in third place in the ranking. Rybakina secured her place in the final by defeating Elina Svitolina with a score of 7-5, 6-4. Sabalenka’s only defeat in 2026 was against Rybakina in the Australian Open final. Sabalenka will seek revenge, as well as break her 0-2 record in the Indian Wells finals.

I would say that the serve was the most important thing in this match. I tried to stay focused on my serve and put as much pressure as possible on hers. And luckily, I got this victory.

Sabalenka has won eight of the 15 matches against Rybakina, including two losses in their two most recent encounters. Rybakina won 78% of her first serves against Svitolina, who committed eight double faults in her semifinal.
