Sabalenka Advances in Wuhan: Winning Streak Extends
Aryna Sabalenka continues her dominance in Wuhan, extending her winning streak to 20 matches after a convincing victory over Elena Rybakina in the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 tournament.
The current US Open champion demonstrated her superiority on the court with a score of 6-3, 6-3, securing her place in the semifinals.
Sabalenka, who already conquered the Wuhan Open title in 2018, 2019 and last year, once again demonstrated her adaptation and dominance in the Chinese city.
In a match that lasted 1 hour and 25 minutes, Sabalenka managed to break Rybakina’s serve on three occasions, securing her place in the semifinals for the eleventh time this season. At the end of the match, the Belarusian tennis player thanked the audience with gestures of affection.
Coco Gauff Secures Semifinal Spot as Well
Coco Gauff, seeded number 3, also advanced to the semifinals after a victory over Laura Siegemund with a score of 6-3, 6-0. Gauff is looking to reach the final after her recent participation in the China Open.
Gauff will face Iga Swiatek or Jasmine Paolini in the next round.
Jessica Pegula to Face Sabalenka in Semifinals
Jessica Pegula, seeded number 6, also secured her place in the semifinals. Pegula defeated Katerina Siniakova in a match that extended to three sets, with scores of 2-6, 6-0, 6-3.
Pegula reaches this stage after securing victories over Ekaterina Alexandrova and Hailey Baptiste.
