Holger Rune Injured and Will Be Out of the Courts for a While

Danish tennis player Holger Rune, currently ranked number 11 in the world, announced that he will be away from the courts for a while due to an Achilles tendon injury that will require surgery. The news comes after his retirement in the semifinals of the Nordic Open in Stockholm. During the semi-final match against Ugo Humbert, Rune was forced to withdraw from the match due to the injury. At that moment, the score indicated that Rune was leading 6-4, 2-2. Rune himself, through his social media, expressed his frustration and sadness about the situation:

“It’s going to be a while before I can step on the court again. It’s tough. I had so much joy on the court in Stockholm and it’s unbearable to think that I won’t feel this energy for a while,”
