Najee Harris Ready to Debut with the Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers running back Najee Harris is on track to start in the season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs, as confirmed by coach Jim Harbaugh this Wednesday. Harris, who missed all of the preseason due to an eye injury sustained in a fireworks accident, has been cleared to fully participate in training. The runner was on the field with his teammates on Wednesday, participating in a light session after the team’s arrival in São Paulo. In the presence of numerous reporters, Harris again wore a helmet with a dark visor, as he has done in public practices this summer. On Monday, Harris commented that he didn’t care what people might think about his use of sunglasses, describing his injury as “superficial.” He has participated in only six practices with the Chargers. “I’m preparing for it, trying to get back in shape for football,” Harris said on Monday. “I feel good, and we’ll see how it goes.”“He says he’s ready, and he looks ready to play,” Harbaugh stated. “It’s hard to predict playing time. He’s going to play football and give it his all. That’s the mentality.”
