CeeDee Lamb Takes Responsibility for Drops and Seeks Revenge vs. Chiefs

FRISCO, Texas – CeeDee Lamb, wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, didn’t need to elaborate on the reasons for his three dropped passes, including one that could have been a touchdown, in Sunday’s victory against the Philadelphia Eagles.

You’re just looking for ways to get better. You want to focus on solutions and not so much on the problem. Sure, we know the problem, I need to catch the damn ball. Other than that, man, we’ll be alright. When I catch it, be ready.

Lamb has recorded eight dropped passes, the most in his career, and the highest figure for a Cowboys player in a single season since Dez Bryant had nine in 2012.Six of the eight drops occurred against the Eagles.

Honestly, it’s really a lack of focus on my part. Thinking about doing two things before the first one. There’s been a lot of that, and with that, I’m thinking about my next move before catching the ball and things like that. It’s really no one’s fault but my own, and I’ve never been one to point fingers, but yes, it all depends on me, and I have to handle that.

After three drops in the season opener against the Eagles, Lamb was at The Star the next day catching passes from the Jugs machine. He had nine receptions for 112 yards in the Week 2 victory against the New York Giants.Dak Prescott said he expects a “big game” from Lamb on Thursday against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Just review his career, right? In any game where he may not have lived up to his standards or had a drop or it was a frustrating game, the way he has responded has been unquestionable. I know that earlier this year it was the same from the first time we played against the Eagles to his next game. I don’t expect this to be different.

After Sunday’s game, coach Brian Schottenheimer said he would give Lamb many opportunities against the Chiefs.He loves the spotlight. He’s an incredible football player and has that look in his eyes that means business. It’s the same look he had after the first game against Philadelphia. I think I let the cat out of the bag a little bit, but there will be many balls going to 88 on Thursday afternoon.Lamb has 44 receptions for 632 yards and two touchdowns in eight games. He missed three games with a high ankle sprain, and Schottenheimer said Lamb is just regaining his full health.

There’s really no one in my way. I feel like I’m the only one protecting myself. We’re going to fix that.
