Pegula, currently ranked number 7, defeated Katie Boulter with scores of 3-6, 6-4, 6-2. For her part, Navarro, ranked 18th, defeated Sonay Kartal with a score of 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.

The final of the competition, formerly known as the Fed Cup, will pit the United States against Italy, the current champion.

The United States will seek its first title since 2017, the year they achieved their last victory in this prestigious tournament. The last time the American team reached the final was in 2018.

The Italian team, led by Jasmine Paolini (world number 8) and Elisabetta Cocciaretto (number 91), represents a significant challenge to American aspirations.

Both teams have strong doubles pairs. Italy presents the Olympic champions Paolini and Sara Errani, while the United States lines up Pegula alongside Taylor Townsend, who holds the first position in the doubles ranking.

The matches are defined in series of the best of three games, which include two singles and, if necessary, a doubles match to determine the winner.
