Lleyton Hewitt and his son Cruz fall in the quarterfinals at the New South Wales Challenger

Tennis legend Lleyton Hewitt, a two-time Grand Slam champion, came out of retirement to compete in doubles alongside his son Cruz at the New South Wales Challenger tournament. However, their participation came to an end in the quarterfinals. Hewitt, who reached world number one and won the US Open in 2001 and Wimbledon in 2002, retired from singles tennis in 2016. On this occasion, he partnered with his 16-year-old son, Cruz. In their debut, the duo Hewitt achieved a resounding victory on Wednesday, defeating Hayden Jones and Pavle Marinkov with a score of 6-1 and 6-0.

However, in the quarterfinals, the father-son team faced Dane Sweeny and Calum Puttergill, who prevailed with scores of 7-5 and 6-4.

Lleyton Hewitt currently serves as the captain of the Australian Davis Cup team. Cruz Hewitt is one of the three children Lleyton has with his wife, former actress Bec Hewitt.
