Taylor Fritz secured the victory for Team World at the Laver Cup, after defeating Alexander Zverev with a score of 6-3, 7-6 (4). The match took place on Sunday at the Chase Center in San Francisco. Fritz showed a solid game from the start, although Zverev reacted in the second set, staging a comeback. However, Fritz maintained his intensity, securing the victory for his team.

“We’re going to have a fun night,” Fritz declared to ATP.com before the trophy presentation. “We’ll definitely pop some champagne in the locker room in a few minutes.”

This victory meant the third title for Team World in the last four years, led by Andre Agassi in his debut as captain.

“Seeing these guys on the bench motivated, seeing a sports legend like Andre jumping from his seat cheering me on, it’s impossible not to be excited and give it my all,” expressed Fritz.

Alex de Minaur from Australia brought Team World closer to the title, after defeating Jakub Mensik 6-3, 6-4. Over the weekend, the 26-year-old tennis player added seven points for his team, including victories over Zverev and in doubles alongside Alex Michelsen on Saturday.
