Djokovic Withdraws from Paris Masters Due to Injury
Tennis player Novak Djokovic has announced his withdrawal from the Paris Masters, scheduled for next week. The news was communicated through his social media this Tuesday, a few days after the Serbian player withdrew from an exhibition event due to a leg injury.
Djokovic, winner of 24 Grand Slam titles, has had a season with little activity, participating in only eight ATP Tour tournaments outside of the four majors.
Despite this, the 38-year-old tennis player managed to reach the semifinals at the Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and the US Open this season. Between the end of May and the end of September, his only participations were in these last three Grand Slams.
In his most recent official tournament, the Shanghai Masters, Djokovic was affected by a hip injury during his elimination in the semifinals.
Djokovic was one of the six players invited to the Six Kings Slam in Saudi Arabia last week. After an initial exemption, he lost against Jannik Sinner and then faced Taylor Fritz to define third place, but withdrew after a set.
The ATP Finals, for which Djokovic qualified but skipped in 2024, will take place from November 9 to 16 in Turin, Italy.
