Djokovic Secures His First Clay-Court Victory of the Season in Geneva
At the Geneva Open, Novak Djokovic secured his first clay-court victory of the season by defeating Marton Fucsovics with a score of 6-2, 6-3. This triumph marks a turning point for the Serbian tennis player after two previous defeats in the European spring season on this surface.
Djokovic, who is the second seed in the tournament, will face Matteo Arnaldi in the quarterfinals. Arnaldi has already proven to be a formidable opponent, having defeated Djokovic at the Madrid Masters.
“My first victory on clay this season, obviously, it’s great to break the ice in a way. It’s a very demanding surface,” Djokovic stated in an on-court interview.
