In a remarkable performance at the Shanghai Masters, Alex De Minaur, seeded number seven, secured his place in the quarterfinals by defeating Nuno Borges with a score of 7-5, 6-2.

Only Carlos Alcaraz, with 67 victories, and Taylor Fritz, with 50, had previously surpassed this mark in 2025.

In his most successful season yet, De Minaur accumulated 47 wins and two titles.

In the next round, De Minaur will face Daniil Medvedev, who achieved victory over Learner Tien with scores of 7-6 (6), 6-7 (1), 6-4.

In addition, Felix Auger-Aliassime, seeded number 12, eliminated Lorenzo Musetti, eighth seed, with a score of 6-4, 6-2, which will allow him to play the quarterfinals against Arthur Rinderknech.

Rinderknech, who previously surprised by defeating Alexander Zverev, will face Jiri Lehecka, fifteenth seed, after defeating him 6-3, 7-6 (5).

Rinderknech, ranked 54th, joins his cousin Valentin Vacherot in the quarterfinals.
