Alcaraz Advances to the Roland Garros Final After Musetti’s Retirement
The reigning champion, Carlos Alcaraz, has secured his place in the French Open final after Lorenzo Musetti’s retirement in the semifinal. The match, played this Friday, was stopped at the beginning of the fourth set, with Alcaraz dominating the scoreboard.
Alcaraz was leading the match with a score of 4-6, 7-6 (3), 6-0, 2-0 when Musetti, the eighth seed, was forced to retire from the Philippe-Chatrier court.
Musetti received medical treatment on the inner part of his left thigh at the end of the third set and again before starting the fourth. It’s not the best way to win a match. Lorenzo is a great player. I wish him the best, a speedy recovery, and I hope to see him back on the court soon.
