Alcaraz Advances to Fourth Round at Wimbledon After Defeating Struff
Carlos Alcaraz continues his path at Wimbledon, seeking his third consecutive title. The Spanish tennis player defeated Jan-Lennard Struff with partial scores of 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 and 6-4 on the center court this Friday, securing his place in the fourth round of the tournament.
Alcaraz extended his winning streak to 21 matches overall and 17 consecutive victories at the All England Club, where he has won the previous two titles.
After a complicated second set, the five-time Grand Slam champion recovered with an early break and conceded only four points on his serve in the third set.
Struff fought, but Alcaraz managed a break to lead 5-4 in the fourth set, and then secured the victory with his serve.Ben Shelton Completes Victory Over Hijikata
In another match, Ben Shelton needed only one minute and four points to finish his victory over Rinky Hijikata, with a score of 6-2, 7-5 and 6-4 in a second-round Wimbledon match that was suspended the night before due to lack of light.
The tenth seed, Shelton, was about to serve for the match on Thursday night, when the game on court number 2 was stopped. The match resumed approximately 16 hours later in the same stadium.
Shelton will face Marton Fucsovics in the next round, with the possibility of reaching the fourth round at the All England Club for the second consecutive year.
