The Manchester United striker, Joshua Zirkzee, has expressed his tranquility regarding the possible arrival of another striker to the team this summer. Zirkzee, who arrived at the club after a transfer of £36.5 million, scored three goals in his first season in the Premier League. The lack of goals has led United to seek reinforcements, including Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, in addition to actively looking for a new striker. Ollie Watkins and Benjamin Sesko are some of the names that sound like possible signings.

I think it’s part of being in this club. To be honest, I don’t read the news, but if another striker arrives, I guess it’s good competition, so I’m not really worried.

Zirkzee has stated that competition is welcome and that his focus is on the benefit of the team.

In his first season at United, Zirkzee experienced ups and downs. He was criticized by some fans after being substituted in a match against Newcastle in December. However, he scored the winning penalty in an FA Cup penalty shootout against Arsenal in January. A hamstring injury in April kept him out of the final weeks of the season, although he returned for the Europa League final against Tottenham. Zirkzee has acknowledged that he hasn’t shown his best form yet and is focused on improving.

I think I was on my way to it [before his injury], but I think there is improvement every day for all of us.

The player is currently with the team on their tour of the United States, but missed the first match against West Ham due to an injury. Zirkzee hopes to recover soon, with the support of the club’s physiotherapists.
