Manchester United defender Leny Yoro has stated that the team is seeking “revenge” after their worst season in over 50 years.
The United’s fifteenth place was their lowest position in the top category since their relegation to the second division in 1974.
Ruben Amorim’s team has enjoyed a mostly positive pre-season in the United States, with two wins and a draw against West Ham, Bournemouth, and Everton. The players and coaching staff returned to Manchester for the final preparation before the start of the new Premier League season.
Before Arsenal’s visit to Old Trafford on August 17, Yoro insisted that this season “will be different” from last year’s disappointing campaign.

“When you play for Manchester United, you need to have the mentality to be the best version of yourself,” Yoro said.
“I think what we did last season was a mistake for us. When you are Manchester United, you cannot be in this position. The fans know it, everyone knows it. I think we understand this.
After spending more than £130 million ($172.7 million) to sign Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo this summer, United are under pressure to start the season well.“This season will be different for us. It will be like a rematch of last season. We need to do better”.

“We are a big club,” Yoro said. “There are a lot of people who want us to fail and we know that. But there are also a lot of people who want us to succeed, to do great things. We just focus on the fans, you know.”
“We don’t care what they say outside, about the media, they all said nonsense about us last year.
“But I understand why we didn’t do very well. This season will be different, I hope for us. We don’t need to hear this and just focus on ourselves”.
