Yamal: “We are not afraid of Real Madrid”
Lamine Yamal, young Barcelona star, has stated that the team feels no fear of Real Madrid, unlike other teams. This, after the culé victory in the Clásico that brings them closer to the LaLiga title.
The 17-year-old player scored the second goal in an exciting match that ended 4-3 in favor of Barcelona. This victory extended the lead over Real Madrid to seven points, with only three matchdays remaining.
Barcelona, which lost the three Clásicos of last season, has won the four matches against Madrid in the current campaign: two in LaLiga and in the finals of the Spanish Super Cup and the Copa del Rey.
“It doesn’t feel good when Madrid wins,” Yamal stated. “Last year we suffered, but this year we gave it our all to change the situation. We don’t have that fear that other teams may have. We feel that we are better than everyone else, and that’s the mentality with which we go out on the field.”

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick praised Yamal’s maturity in the match, highlighting his contribution to come back from a losing score for the seventh time this season.
Yamal fulfilled his promise to exchange shirts with former Barcelona player Thierry Henry.

Barça’s offensive brilliance, with Yamal as a key figure, often contrasts with defensive problems, which has forced the team to come from behind on several occasions this season.
In the last month, the team faced two-goal deficits against Inter Milan, Celta Vigo, and now Real Madrid.
Dani Olmo, also a team player, acknowledges that they must improve certain aspects of their game, but insists that they always have the conviction to be able to come back.
“We have to control the first few minutes a little more, because in the last few games we have conceded many goals. But we know we are going to come back. We know our attacking power, but sometimes we need to control this situation better.”

After extending their lead to seven points at the top of the table, Barcelona could secure the title on Wednesday, if Madrid drops points against Mallorca, or on Thursday, if they win against Espanyol.
Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny has confirmed that he received an offer to extend his contract for two more years.
Szczęsny, who came out of retirement last October, says he will take some time to decide together with his family.
“I’m not going to hide that I have an offer to stay at Barça for two more years. I’ve asked for time to think about it. I need to make the decision with my family based on what is best for us.”
