Wrexham has finalized the incorporation of forward Nathan Broadhead, coming from Ipswich Town, a rival team in the Championship, as announced by the Welsh club this Thursday. The transaction amounts to 10 million pounds ($13.5 million), surpassing Wrexham’s previous transfer record, according to multiple sources. The 27-year-old Welsh international has signed a four-year contract at SToK Cae Ras, subject to international clearance. The “Red Dragons” had been closely following Broadhead for several weeks, and the transfer accelerated after Ipswich signed Chuba Akpom from Ajax.

Wrexham has broken its transfer record on numerous occasions since Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took control of the club in 2021. Lewis O’Brien joined from Nottingham Forest in a £3 million deal last month, with the midfielder being one of several signings made by Wrexham, newly promoted to the Sky Bet Championship, who invested heavily ahead of their first season in the second tier of English football in 43 years. Broadhead is Wrexham’s ninth signing since they were promoted from League One last season. He has played 14 matches for Wales, scoring two goals, and would join his international teammates Danny Ward and Kieffer Moore at the SToK Cae Ras.“I am delighted to welcome Nathan to the Club, he is a local lad who had a real desire to come and play for his hometown club,” stated Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson.

“Confidence is going to be the most important thing for us this season. We want everyone, from North Wales, to come to the STōK Cae Ras and show that confidence in us.”“It’s been a long time coming and I’m delighted to join the Club,” said Broadhead.
