Wrexham is about to finalize the signing of English international defender Conor Coady, according to sources close to the matter.

Coady, 32, passed his medical at Wrexham on Friday and is expected to join the Championship team in a deal close to £2 million (£2.6 million).

This signing represents a significant achievement for Wrexham, who are looking to start their campaign in the Championship on August 9 against Southampton. Coady will bring vast experience to the team, having played for Wolverhampton, Everton, and Leicester in the Premier League.

Coady has been capped 10 times for England and was part of the squad at Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup.

With the arrival of Coady, Wrexham will add their seventh signing in the summer market, after the incorporations of Lewis O’Brien (Nottingham Forest), Liberato Cacace (Empoli), George Thomason (Bolton), Ryan Hardie (Plymouth), Danny Ward (Leicester City) and Josh Windass (Sheffield Wednesday).
