Graham Potter is Sacked from West Ham United

West Ham United has announced the dismissal of Graham Potter as coach, following a disappointing start to the season. Sources close to Alofoke Deportes indicate that Nuno Espírito Santo, who was recently fired from Nottingham Forest, will be his replacement. Potter, 50, took over in January, succeeding Julen Lopetegui. However, he failed to improve the team’s performance at the London Stadium. Under Potter’s management, West Ham only won six out of 25 matches, suffering 14 defeats. The team was in the penultimate position in the Premier League, after losing four of the first five matches of the season. With 13 goals conceded in five matches, West Ham has the worst defense in the league, which generated the discontent of the fans towards Potter and the club’s management. Facing the upcoming match against Everton, the club’s board decided to sack Potter, hoping to confirm Nuno as his successor before the game. In a statement issued on Saturday morning, West Ham confirmed Potter’s departure.

The statement also added that the results and performance during the second half of last season and the start of the 2025-26 season did not meet expectations, so the management considered a modification necessary to improve the team’s position in the Premier League. Additionally, the club confirmed the departure of assistant coach Bruno Saltor, first-team coaches Billy Reid and Narcis Pelach, and goalkeeping coaches Casper Ankergren and Linus Kandolin. The board thanked Potter and his technical team for their work and wished them success in the future. The club is in the process of appointing a replacement and will make no further comment at this time. Nuno, former coach of Wolves and FC Porto, led Forest to European qualification last season, but was fired last month and replaced by Ange Postecoglou.
