Timothy Weah, close to returning to France.
The Olympique de Marseille is in negotiations with Juventus to sign American striker Timothy Weah. Sources close to the situation have revealed to Alofoke Deportes that the player is interested in the transfer.
Weah, 25, is favorably considering the possibility of joining the club where his father, George Weah, also played at the end of his career in 2000. Personal terms are expected to be agreed upon soon, according to the same sources.
Juventus would be asking for between 15 and 20 million euros for the versatile player, who has a contract until June 2028 in Italy.
Marseille, which considers the fee affordable, will submit an offer shortly, and there is optimism that an agreement can be reached.
Weah, with 44 international matches and seven goals with the United States national team, began his career in the youth academy of Paris Saint-Germain, Marseille’s rival, just like his father. He made his professional debut in 2014 with PSG before moving to Lille.
He established himself at Lille (107 matches, eight goals) before Juventus signed him for 11 million euros in the summer of 2023.
In his two seasons in Turin, Weah has played 78 matches and scored seven goals.
